2001 Hackercraft Triple Cockpit Repair
The 2001 Hackercraft triple-cockpit CELERITAS was damaged this past summer when another boat hit her on the aft port-side. The rubrail broke, and the hull planking was damaged just above the waterline. We made a jig, and used a router to remove the damaged mahogany outer skin. With the outer skin removed, we were able to repair the inner skin and support it with a butt block on the inside between frames. We fitted a new piece of mahogany planking into the routed opening, then epoxied it into place. After the epoxy was cured, we matched the stain coloring on the plank repair and the new rubrail, and varnished them.
